Brother MFC-9440CN Color Laser Printer Review
The Brother MFC-9440CN, which costs $700, has managed to create an almost perfect color laser, all in one printer. The Brother MFC-9440CN all in one, color laser printer offers high speed print at a great price. The functions of this printer target a specific market that is looking to print, fax and scan. These individuals may also need to do work without a computer, while using the standalone features of the fax and copier.
With a computer attached, you will be able to scan or fax documents directly to email accounts without extra steps in the process. An automatic document feeder (ADF) that holds 35 pages includes the ability to scan copy and fax multiple documents in one continuous loop. The only flaw in the Brother MFC-9440CN all in one, color laser printer makes itself present during the printing process. The quality of the printed outputs is not as great as you may find with other all in one laser printers of this caliber. However, it will do its job and offers a good enough quality to be used by most offices, small or large.
The Brother MFC-9440CN all in one is similar to other laser printers because its makes it a bit too big to find a comfortable spot in your office. Although you can place it somewhere on your table where you do most of your work, it would be best to place it on a table by itself, to allow yourself more working space. The dimensions of the laser printer which are 19x17x19, means that it would completely take over your work space, depending on the size of your desk. To move this machine, help may be required as it weighs over 72 pounds.
Beyond the large size and heavy weight of this color laser printer, completing the actual setup is incredibly simple. It will consist of taking out all of the materials used in the packing and shipping process. After that you will need to load the paper before connecting the cables and power cord. A network setup if needed can be completed easily.
You will use an automatic program to walk you through the setup process and you can begin to use your new printer. An included disc will allow you to use this printer via the available drivers. These drivers will work with Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, and 64-bit XP.
With some of the Brother’s all in one printers, after setup you can find the printer is still not ready to print. This usually involves the firewall programs on your Windows operating system. A few of the features will work but you may be prevented from completing a scan from the panels in the front of the printer to your computer unless you use it as a standalone machine. The ability to scan documents from the front of a printer is essential. This is especially true when the all in one printer is not stationed on your work desk.
After setup the Brother MFC-9440CN all in one, color laser printer does a pretty good job of completing your requested documents. In about 12 minutes, it will speed through its work of outputting your specific files and documents. For its price, it is one of the fastest all in one color laser printers on the market.
The Brother MFC-9440CN all in one, color laser printer may not be the ideal printer for every office but it does its job with fairly good quality. Printed photos in color are decent quality and so is the text. For home offices or businesses that may need to print extra fonts, you may need to find another printer. When the first printers were shipped out, a small color problem was discovered.
However, it was very slight and hardly noticeably unless someone could point it out. With new and updated drivers, the color issues have been fixed and you should have no trouble printed color documents or images. For regular office work, the Brother MFC-9440CN is up to the challenge and can handle your everyday documents and workload.
