How many times have you attended a wedding party and received a figurine with the name of the bride and groom engraved on it? How many times have you lamented on where you are going to store it because you just do not have the heart to throw it away even if it is completely useless? Such is often the case with party favors for weddings. They end up in a pile of heap in the garage awaiting some form of use, except they don’t have.

In recent years, people are slowly realizing the importance of giving party favors that their guests can actually use and not just display. Although a lot of people are still sticking to the figurine gift, some are already giving USBs or fans or music cds, which people can find use for. Below are some great ideas of practical party favors that your guests will surely remember you by.

1. Music CD

One of the best things that I got from a wedding that I attended once was a music cd that contained some of the favorite songs of the couple and well of course the songs that were meaningful for them. When I got home, I immediately copied the songs to my computer, well those that I lack anyway. I even discovered new songs and one even became my favorite. One of the great things about giving music cds is that people like music. This is something that they can upload to their ipods and music players. It will also not be a clutter. You can download the content and then throw the cd. If you have the budget, do it with a USB. That way, they will also be able to use the USb again for their own files.

2. Picture frames

Picture frames store memories and what better way to make them remember the event than give them something where they can put a memory of them in the party. Picture frames can also be used for their other pictures.

3. Fishes or lovebirds or plants

What a better celebration of love than to give your guests something to love. You can give them a brand new pet with a fish or a pair of lovebirds. You can also give them a plant that they can take care of. What is great about this gift is the fact that it celebrates the beauty of both love and life. It will make your guests remember you. Besides, it’s a great gift to give and it is definitely something that they will not consider a clutter.

Party favors for weddings do not begin and end with figurines. There are other options out there. Explore and find other things to give. But whatever you give, make sure that your guests will find it useful.

Otherwise you would have defeated your primary purpose of giving them party favors in the first place and that is to make them remember you and the special occasion in your life in the most positive of light.

Raja Yoga

Raja means kingly or royal. This form of meditation is
based on bringing the mind and emotions into balance
or harmony so that your attention may be easily
directed on the object of your meditation or on the
Lord directly.

Life force is generally a movement up and down the
spine so that it becomes balanced and the emotions as
well as the mind are serenely content.

Awareness is then directed to move forward into a
point that is located in the center of one’s lower
forehead. This meditation point, which is also called
the ajna, or third eye, is located about 1 half inches
above where the eyebrows meet.

When the energy becomes balanced throughout your body
and brain and moves effortlessly into the area of the
ajna, calmness seems to overtake your mind.

Certainly your mind is not passive but it frees itself
from the meaningless worries, thoughts and clutter of
the subconscious mind.

You derive a pleasant sense of well being in this
state and your mind seems to be filled with a velvety
darkness.

As your consciousness courses toward your third eye,
different pastel colors appear in your forehead. There
are sumptuous, glorious pinks, whites, indigos,
purples, yellows, blues and green that take their turn
in your forehead.

As your life force becomes stronger and more
concentrated you may think you see lightning,
fireflies or moonlight. This whole process is getting
you ready to experience your true nature.

The person who practices raja yoga in its purest form
lives in bless with the will completely surrendered to
God.

Organizing your computer system for the work you do can help you reach peak
performance levels. Bookmarking frequently visited Web sites into neat
categories is worth the time it takes to do.

Keeping your email inbox and other folders as empty as possible is another useful productivity technique. Reply to all emails as soon as you can so that you do not have a backlog building up. If you have multiple email accounts, consider using a computer application that will allow you to centralize these accounts on your desktop so that you are not having to go all over the place to retrieve email.

Having an office software
package installed on your system is pretty much compulsory these days for
nearly any line of work. Fortunately, you do not have to spend hundreds of
dollars on commercial office packages anymore; the open-sourced OpenOffice is a freely available and highly competitive piece of office software that will run
on many different platforms. There are plenty of freeware utilities out there
that make your life easier, everything from scientific calculators to password
managers to world clocks that sit on your desktop and display the time for all
major cities around the globe (a great help given the international nature of
much Internet-based work).

Of course, having an organized computer means nothing if you are working out of
a waste dump. Reducing clutter and having a neatly organized room or office
seems to have a similar effect on your mind. “You are where you work” is the
motto here. Have plenty of space in which to move around, but do not strive for
the warehouse effect where you are walking fifty meters just to retrieve a pen
and a piece of paper — assuming you still know what pens are.

One of the biggest sources of computer-related stress is losing access to your
important data. If you are heavily dependent on reliable access to your work
data, it is absolutely imperative that you plan for data-loss contingencies.
Perform frequent saves of any files you are currently working on, creating a
duplicate copy every now and then so that you have a rollback option in the
case of disastrous edits. Perform routine backups of your data on external
media. If your budget allows for it, consider purchasing an uninterrupted power
supply (UPS) so that you can either continue working during a power outage or
save your work and turn off your computer gracefully. Forgetting passwords is
another way to lose access to your data, so if you have been known to have the
memory of a goldfish, find a solution in the form of a password-management
utility, either a software program or one of the many physical devices that
have appeared on the market in recent years. Whether you have a dial-up
Internet account or fast broadband access, if constant Internet access is
mission critical for your work, you can avoid many common stressful situations
by having a separate, low-cost dial-up account with a different Internet
service provider. Finally, investing a little time, money, and effort in a
basic computer-repair course will pay you back many times over when it comes to
easily fixed computer problems that seem to strike only on weekends or during
the early hours of the morning.

Learning a computer programming language will allow you to automate many of the
tasks that form your grunt work and enable you to concentrate on those things
that humans do best. If you start out with a simple scripting language such as
Perl, Python, or Ruby, you will discover that programming a computer is not as
daunting as it would first appear — in fact, it can be a great deal of fun.
You may even find that your burgeoning programming skills can earn you some
extra income as a freelance coder.
