Do you remember that Hollywood blockbuster several years ago involving a woman that needed to keep running because of a compromised identity with information taken from the Internet? Or more recently, there was yet another Hollywood offering that shows a regular family man’s ideal home and family turned into a suspense-filled arena for a bank heist because of sensitive information gathered from the family trash?

Although, as the disclaimer at the end of these films say, these stories are fictitious, there is indeed cause for alarm for things like these happening to you. Identity theft is a growing problem and once you’ve been victimized, a whole slew of difficulties will arise from this crisis.

Don’t panic just yet though. Note that from these movies you will see that these types of identity thefts are done with precision and motive. Meaning, when identity theft to that magnitude happens, it is usually committed by someone who knows your personal habits and may not be a serial identity theft. That means, you need to safe guard against friends or family that may have a drug problem or are in dire financial straits. Suspicious of you to think this way sure but as the cliché goes, it is better to be safe than sorry, and believe me, sorry is the least of your worries if you become the hapless victim of identity theft.

Just think-if your wallet was stolen or you have for one reason or another, been physically separated from items that contain sensitive information like your social security number, credit card information, driver’s license number, etc– it is easy to prevent identity theft because you can cancel all your cards and report them stolen to prevent anyone misusing your personal information for their gain.

Now imagine this-you are hounded by credit collectors for purchases you have not made, or worse-you are wrongfully apprehended for a crime you most certainly did not commit. How did this happen? Your personal information and sensitive numbers were never physically separated from you. Unfortunately, carelessly giving away your social security number or other sensitive information may put you at risk for identity theft.

A database with all your information may be sold to another entity that may use your data to make purchases in your stead without you knowing. It’s easy enough if the criminals who commit identity theft will make purchases on your existing credit cards and such. You can easily check your existing credit cards and see fraudulent purchases.

What about checking the accounts that you don’t know about?

Identity thefts may open new accounts for mobile phones, credit cards and even make larger purchases like buying an apartment and you won’t know it unless the credit collectors finally trace the bills back to you after the perpetrators run off with the bills.

Therefore, identity theft protection is important, as you have now surmised. Although as in everything in life (another cliché coming), prevention is the best cure. Given this, it is important to find out the best ways to prevent and protect yourself against identity theft. Fortunately, you can get extremely useful information on this online through websites like www.crimedoctor.com

This website is a rich resource for anything and everything about identity theft and how to protect yourself against it. This site has a very useful article on identity theft written for lay people like you and me so that you can guard yourself by learning more.

Setting and achieving goals are two sides of the spectrum; yet they are both needed if your life is to have a purpose and meaning.

The first step

Setting your goal will be the first step. It is when you clarify, list down, and construct the step-by-step process on how to achieve your dreams. This also the time that you will need to reflect, not only about your past achievements or frustrations but also about your future worries and angsts.

To prevent yourself from being overwhelmed with plans, however, goals have to be simplified and broked down into much smaller units. In this way, you will easily access every angle of your goal, whenever there is a need to review any of its components.

Since the very purpose of goal setting is to be achievable, your goals should be challenging enough to stimulate you but realistic enough so as not to discourage you in the end.

For instance, you want to set a goal for your personal growth, as a person and as a professional. These two can be easily confused into one thing but they are different. Do not make the mistake of planning to improve your personal over-all goals in order to “carry over” your professional goal. Attack the two concerns separately.

Of course it is only natural that some aspect of your professional goals are preset in your personal goal setting and vice versa. This is only natural.

But it should be clear that from this two types of goal setting, you should a priority; don’t swallow too much even if it’s a good thing. It is also important to come up with a list of specific goals in aid for the major goal, in descending order, that is, the most important part being in the top of the list.

The second step of goal setting

Setting your goal is very important. Just don’t forget that creating and even planning ways to achieve it is equally important. You should also have a method of checking your progress.

Say, for example, you have decided to prioritize your personal growth and you have set a goal for this. What you will need is a procedure in which you can monitor each step of the goal so as to make the necessary revisions.

And since goal setting is never done to isolate yourself from the rest, make it a habit to surround yourself with people that share your vision. This will help you in motivating more of yourself into achieving what you have decreed for your self earlier.

Achieving your goals

Setting up goals will never mean an iota if there is no effort on your part to achieve it. It’s not there to be put on display or to remind yourself that once upon a time, you were sensible enough to create a goal for yourself. And don’t try to convince yourself that there are goals that are really meant to be written and nothing more; there is no such thing.

Goals are meant to be achieved. This “achieving part” completes the goal setting process. What makes achieving goals twice as difficult compared with the goal setting part is that people tend to separate the two. Don’t do this. The setting and achieving is intertwined, in fact, two parts of a whole process.

Obsessive compulsive disorder does not discriminate. It knows no age, race, gender, sexual preference, nationality, intellectual prowess, and the like. Even the richest of people, who can afford all sort of medication can have OCD. The condition does not affect adults. In fact, even children suffer from the problem.

Take the story of ten-year-old Ashley, for instance. After eating she joins her friends to the wash area to wash her hands. She enjoys washing her hands as much as her friends do.

However, the one thing that sets her apart is the fact that she can’t seem to stop herself from washing once she starts. Ashley ends up washing, soaping and drying over and over again until her hands are rubbed raw. She wants to stop, but her thinking that the germs on her hands are not a hundred percent out overpowers her. She doesn’t feel clean enough.

This weird habit or compulsion might be easily dismissed by her parents as merely a phase she’s going through and grow out of when she matures. However, it has become more than just an annoying habit. It has started to take over her life, causing delay in a lot of her activities and distractions during her schoolwork or while she’s at play. In school, she refuses to touch door knobs or even hold her other classmates. At home, she refuses to touch anything without first having it cleaned up or sprayed with a disinfectant.

Ashley is just one of the many children that have obsessive compulsive disorder. Since most kids are curious about their environment and are likely to keep repeating a certain activity to satisfy their curiosities and feed their sense of discovery, it is not so easy to conclude that a certain habit has turned into an obsession or a compulsion.

What is obsessive compulsive disorder? It is a kind of anxiety that occurs when the brain becomes unable to cope with doubts and worries. The source could be medical in nature and be addressed by taking the appropriate drugs. However, it can also be psychological, as with an insane fear of talking to people.

It is said that it is easy to teach children while they are so because their minds are like blank sheets of paper ready to absorb all the information handed to them. Perhaps this is why treating children with obsessive compulsive disorder is easier than having to deal with adults, who already have a set principles and beliefs.

Behavior treatment is the better choice for children who are suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder. Because drugs can be too strong for kids’ sensitive digestive systems, the long route is right route.

Sure, while behavior therapy can take quite a while before the condition is fully treated, at least we know that it’s a slow but sure way of dealing with problem. In addition, parents are assured that their children will not be dependent on any kind of drug.

It is recommended that children undergo treatment for their obsessive compulsive disorder. When addressed early in life, OCD has the bigger chance of being totally eliminated. However, if you leave the condition as is, it could escalate into something that is more uncontrollable when the child grows up, making it more difficult to manage.

OCD is a problem. However, it can also be managed. If you suspect that your child has OCD, consult his or her doctor immediately.

Whether you’re single at 30 or a fresh divorcee looking for some company, adult online dating is the latest “in” thing in the social world. No more worries about finding yourself a sensitive date. They’re right at your doorstep, or in this case, right in front of your computer screen. With just a few clicks of your mouse, you can have men (or women) waiting in line for your “Yes.”

Most of these adult online dating services require their members to be at least eighteen years of age. Members generally are looking for casual and one-time affairs or long-term relationships with compatible sex partners. While traditional online dating sites simply match a person to a possibly compatible date, adult dating services online can also include matches for individuals who’d like to join sex groups, or for meeting transsexuals.

With adult dating services, one can explore his/her sexual desires and interests. It’s also a good way for exploring one’s sexuality as there are groups allowing multiple sex partners. It also became a venue for Cybersex and casual, “harmless” encounters and affairs.

Members usually post their sexual preferences, appearance, location, and even semi-nude or nude photos. Some sites even have webcams where users can meet online instead of meeting in person.

Popular sites to check out are:

AdultFriendfinder.com. Known as the largest sex and swinger personals site, this is the place to check out the photos and profiles of its 24 million members. They also provide links to sites that offer quirky sexual encounters.

TruDating.com allows its users to explore sites designed for casual sex encounters, for meeting singles or other couples in shared encounters, and many other dating and sex interests.

Other popular sites would include SexSearch.com, AdultDateLink.com and IWantU.com.

Subscribers usually fill out their personal profile and can post pictures and/or an ad. Other users can send messages to any of the members and enjoy the wide-variety of services these sites offer – from chatting to group discussions to virtual and personal encounters, and even cybersex.

Some of these sites can be accessed for free, while others require a subscription or membership fee, which allows access to more information like email address and more photos.

These adult dating services online seem to be too good and too perfect for any single looking for some excitement in the bedroom or in the chat room. And while some members may be telling the truth in their profiles, some aren’t. A word of caution, don’t be fooled. Anyone can still lie about their age, their “measurements” and appearances. Others can post edited photos that don’t really match up to the “real thing”. And while others may be on the look-out for quirky sexual adventures, others may border on the perverse.

Be cautious and use your common sense. Don’t give out all information, especially your exact location and full name. If you’re meeting in person, it is still best to have a companion who can watch your back for you or meet in a public place, like the mall.

Others may have found their perfect sexual partners, while others may have enjoyed a casual one-time affair through these adult dating online services. There are those who ended up married to each other. But whether or not it’s for a short-time or a long-time thing, adult dating services are gaining popularity among a wide number of singles in the world. No more Friday nights alone.

What are the drawbacks of investing in mutual funds? In order to make a truly informed investment decision you need to be aware of both the pros and cons of mutual fund investing before you make the decision as to whether or not this style of investing is suitable to meet your financial needs now and in the future. Keep reading for a little bit of enlightening information on the downside of investing in mutual funds.

1) Low return on investment. While you can make a comfortable retirement for yourself by investing in mutual funds you won’t find the swift and bold flips, turns, and swings that you might find in the sales of certain high yield stocks. In fact, mutual funds are more the slow and steady wins the race sorts of investment methods, which are effective in their own right but, while providing comfort, will not bring copious amounts of wealth.
2) Dubious management. While this isn’t true of all mutual funds you need to check the fund manager out thoroughly before buying into the fund. You never really know whom to trust in this day and age and many people have complained that they would have done better making the decisions on their own rather than relying on the fund manager in order to do so. Of course, when you are making your own decisions you will have other worries on your mind at all times. So professional management can be a benefit or a downside depending on the manager you get for your fund.
3) Too much of a good thing isn’t really good. The problem with mutual funds is that the funds that are doing well and netting high returns for its investors are often quickly inundated with new investors wanting the same results and there is only so much the manager can do to make good on the money that has been invested. There is another issue in which the fact that funds purchase such a small portion of so many stocks that when one or a handful of the companies that the fund is invested in do extremely well, the pool sharing the profits is so large that the impact is often negligible.
4) The big killer for many investors is that the fund manager takes actions that are right for the fund and those actions may not be what is best for your individual situation. A broker or financial planner that you deal with personally is much more likely to make financial decisions for you that are geared towards your individual needs and not the needs of a much larger group. If you want individual advice and guidance then a mutual fund is definitely not the way to go. You should also avoid them if you are in a precarious situation when it comes to things such as capital gains taxes, which can significantly impact your actual profits.
5) Personal control. Are you a control freak? Many of us are and when you go with a mutual fund you are giving someone else control of something that is often very personal. No one likes the idea of being at another person’s mercy when it comes to retirement or planning for the future and you are essentially putting your retirement, your vacation home, or your child’s college education in someone else’s hands. This is a frightening situation for someone who is typically in control of these investment decisions/
It really doesn’t matter whether or not you ultimately decide to include mutual funds in your investment portfolio. Make sure that when the time is right you can make an informed decision one way or the other.

Aside from that, you should consider to ensure that your trip would be a success which is the cost of the whole trip.

Knowing and calculating your costs and possible expenditures during Venice vacation can greatly help you set a realistic budget during your stay. By estimating the possible cost of your vacation, you can set your budget in advance so you wouldn’t be spending more than you can afford to spend. Another advantage of knowing how much you will spend will also help your leave your worries behind because you have enough money to spend on something during the entire trip.

If possible, always make sure that you leave an allowance or you allot at least 10 to 20 percent of the total of your budget to spend on emergency cases. The most important expenses that you should expect from your from your Venice vacations is accommodation. This very important in planning your budget because this is where you will stay once the busy day is finished. Many people make good accommodations a priority because this is their home when out of the house while others are not so much into good accommodations because they think that they should be getting as much exposure as they can get when they are in a vacation destination.

During a Venice vacation, accommodations will matter because this is where you will spend most of your time after a long day of touring. This is also the place where you will leave your baggage for safe keeping. If you want ultimate comfort, choose accommodation that are near the central city so you can have access to almost all the things that you might need.

Enjoying your stay

Aside from personal comfort, the best way to enjoy Venice is when you tour the city itself. If you ask people who have been to a Venice vacation, they would tell you not to miss out on its major tourist attractions because this is what will make the trip worthwhile.

During a tour, you can opt for tour services offered by various establishments. Many of them offer scheduled tours that ensure that you will se all the sites that you should when you visit Venice. You will have a local to accompany you when you choose guided tours. This might cost a much but if you want an orderly and safe touring, you can get their services.

But if you want a less formal city tour, then you could tour the city yourself. All you need you need to do is to have a list of the attractions that you want to visit and go these one day at a time. Make sure that you visit the main attraction in the place by touring the St. Mark’s Square where you can also drop by at the St. Mark’s Basillica and the Doges Palace.

You can also visit nearby districts to see more sites and attractions that are truly worth your brief stay.

As you may know, there’s nothing better than sitting in a hot tub, after a hard day’s work or a long day of driving the kids from one place to the next, grabbing dinner on the run and ending it near complete exhaustion. No, there is nothing that can get you physically and mentally relaxed like a long soak in a hot tub, that’s for sure. So what is it about sitting a hot tub that helps take all of the worries of the day and makes them disappear?

Seriously, it sounds almost magical, doesn’t it? Is it the steam from the hot water that grabs hold of the tension in your body and then floats it all away that does it? Is it like the feeling you get when you walk into Disney World, for the first time (or for the first time on one visit) and your eyes get HUGE when you look down Main Street to Cinderella’s Castle and you realize that you’re standing in the most magical place on the planet? It doesn’t matter if you are 5 years old, 60 or 102; that feeling is there and it is a wonder to comprehend.

The thing is, there aren’t any magical answers, there are just tried and true, scientifically proven reasons as to why, when you step into a hot tub at the end of a long day, that you are able to release all of the days worries and tensions.

All day long we walk around and our bodies are pounded, with each step we take, by gravity. We wouldn’t notice it unless we were concentrating specifically on the force of gravity and how it affects every step we take; but it’s there, and it is constantly putting a huge amount of pressure on your entire physical self, every single day. So, what does that have to do with the wonders of a hot tub? When you sit in a hot tub, your body becomes buoyant and you are relieved of up to 30% of the natural gravitational pull that stresses your physical self all day long. As if that weren’t enough, because we could all spend a couple of minutes in a swimming pool for that effect, but there’s more to a hot tub’s wonder.

As you submerge your tired old self into the hot water, your body naturally begins to warm and warmth brings about relaxation. It all happens because your blood flow is in high gear, while your veins and capillaries are also in a relaxed, not tense, state of being. So, it all works like this; blood does the flowing, your heart works better, and you are not being driven to the ground by 100% force. Is that all there is to it? Well, basically yeah, that’s the tip of the ice berg and the basic understanding of why, after a day spent totally on the hamsters wheel, all it takes is a soak in a hot tub to completely rejuvenate the body and mind. Amazing, isn’t it?

Raja Yoga

Raja means kingly or royal. This form of meditation is
based on bringing the mind and emotions into balance
or harmony so that your attention may be easily
directed on the object of your meditation or on the
Lord directly.

Life force is generally a movement up and down the
spine so that it becomes balanced and the emotions as
well as the mind are serenely content.

Awareness is then directed to move forward into a
point that is located in the center of one’s lower
forehead. This meditation point, which is also called
the ajna, or third eye, is located about 1 half inches
above where the eyebrows meet.

When the energy becomes balanced throughout your body
and brain and moves effortlessly into the area of the
ajna, calmness seems to overtake your mind.

Certainly your mind is not passive but it frees itself
from the meaningless worries, thoughts and clutter of
the subconscious mind.

You derive a pleasant sense of well being in this
state and your mind seems to be filled with a velvety
darkness.

As your consciousness courses toward your third eye,
different pastel colors appear in your forehead. There
are sumptuous, glorious pinks, whites, indigos,
purples, yellows, blues and green that take their turn
in your forehead.

As your life force becomes stronger and more
concentrated you may think you see lightning,
fireflies or moonlight. This whole process is getting
you ready to experience your true nature.

The person who practices raja yoga in its purest form
lives in bless with the will completely surrendered to
God.

Jnana means discernment or wisdom. Jnana yoga
literally means the path of wisdom. Ynana meditation
is multi-faceted. When one uses jnana meditation, one
tries to withdraw the mind and the emotions from
perceiving life. The one who participates in this form
of meditation tries to become tuned into reality or to
the spirit.

One of the main ways that the yogi of discernment
meditates, is to patiently lay aside all feeling and
though until he or she feels the radiant glow of the
soul dawning in the heart and mind. Transformation and
enlightenment take place within the rapt meditator.
One of the ways this is accomplished is through a
process called neti-neti.

Neti-neti Meditation

The meaning of neti-neti is “not this, not this”.

Whenever a feeling or thought comes into your mind
which is not one of the goals of the meditation or
which is not of the inner self, just say “Not this,
not this” and dismiss the image, sound, thought,
concept or sense distraction.

Any feeling or thought is patiently dismissed time and
again, if necessary, until your mind is cleared and
your soul is revealed.

Remember that you should not meditate in a passive
way. This state of consciousness is referred to as
alertness and is an amazing application of awareness.

As you form the habit of saying “neti-neti”, you will
be able to discard any doubt, worry or fear and become
established in the realm of inner self. You will then
be able to look back at fear and worries with deep
insight and be able to handle them.

Saving Money is one hard task. There are lots of things to be considered, primarily on how to budget your cash on hand that would somehow, if not manage to have excess left money, be exact of what it should be used for. Budgeting is really a pain in the neck. Allocation of electric bills, water bills, phone bills, etc. is just few of the many things being considered on how to utilize your cash wisely. Food is no exception. Being the most important of all house responsibility, we prioritize on how to budget our money, reducing the money spent without sacrificing the food allocation. We mainly buy necessities in groceries. It would be of help if you list down goods you have to buy together with their prices (if possible) so as to ensure yourself that the budget allotted for food is exact or there is a shortage. If so, you could trim down your list or think of a better replacement. To furthermore avoid shopping shortages, here are some tips.

• List goods that should always be found in the kitchen. Examples of which are coffee, milk, sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, salt, onion, garlic. These goods are necessary, so they are always being bought.

• Plan your weekly meals ahead of time. This would avoid you overspending on goods invaluable or missing some ingredients that are needed. This would not just clear your worries but it would also save your time.

• Don’t buy branded goods; instead choose a product that has the same quality of those expensive goods. You’ll get the same benefit without spending more.

• Buy goods that have dual purpose. A good example of which is mayonnaise. You can use it as a sandwich spread or make macaroni salad instead. In a way, you could enjoy eating both without spending too much.

• Buy less expensive cuts of meat. List recipes that the cuts won’t matter. At least, you won’t be sacrificing the taste of the food and at the same time you’ll have the chance to buy a larger quantity.

• Pay in cash. You might be tempted to buy unnecessary goods. This would avoid you from going over your card limit.

• Try to be inventive and creative at the same time. Leftovers could be precooked in a way that it would look appealing again to your appetite.

• Bring some snacks whenever you travel. This could be a good reliever for your hunger along the way and chances of being tempted to stop in a mini store; if not be impossible, at least be lessen.

• Keep a list of prices of goods you always buy. At least, with those products you’re sure of how much you’ll be spending and you could do just a small amount on goods you wish to buy.
