There are many types of TV’s on the market.  Finding a TV can be a little confusing due to the techno talk and countless models, but the good news is that TV technology has gotten better in the last few years and many consumers will be happy with the TV’s offered for sale.  Here are some tips on the different types of TV’s on the market

Three types of TV’s on the market are CRT, Plasma and LCD.  While all three of these TV’s give you a quality picture, each TV has its own pros and cons.  CRT TV’s are the traditional TV set, big, boxy but very reliable and always delivers a great and bright picture.  Most people are switching to other types of TV’s on the market due to space considerations, size of the screen and the wow factor.

Plasma TV’s are usually high end TV sets that work by heating gases to create a bright picture with amazing image clarity.  While these TV’s are super thin and light weight, they are expensive and can cost thousands of dollars.  Most plasma TV’s focus on larger screen sizes such as 40 inches and up.

LCD TV’s are the newest category to the types of TV’s on the market.  LCD TV’s are the same technology as your thin computer monitor and work via Liquid Crystal Display.  Up until recently LCD screens were not available in large widescreen sizes.  However, today you find plenty of LCD types of TV’s on the market.  They are more expensive than CRT but are great for people that don’t have lots of space.  If you are interested in purchasing a TV, it is extremely important to take a look at the types of TV’s on the market to make an excellent choice.
